"3 Me When You See Me"
The "3 Me When You See me " Fordham Family Foundation was created on the behalf of Sharif Fordham Jr. whom was killed in a car accident on October 17, 2019.
As a parent i was faced with multiple challenges raising Sharif. I sought help with his mental health issues on numerous occasions, but there were none within our community so i had to deal with it with the little resources that were available to me.
I encourage parents to acknowledge and not to be afraid to reach out for help dealing with Mental Health Issues and not keep them behind closed doors. Our services will provide the necessary resources and guidance for families who are facing the same challenges i've faced.

Uniform Funding & Scholarships
At the beginning of each school year, students require uniforms, stationery, and other school equipment. We created the uniform fund to supplement the cost of purchasing uniforms and other necessary school items for our youths and their families. The cost of school uniforms is high in today's economy, and we accept donations for them and school supplies at any time.
We also offer a scholarship fund program that provides financial assistance to students who demonstrate exceptional academic performance.
Youth Mentoring Programs
The youth mentoring program introduces youths to positive role models who share their life experiences, offer advice, and have fun with our children. Mentors are committed to our youths and are qualified to play a nurturing role. We recruit our mentors through corporations, civic organizations, and local media. All mentor candidates undergo a thorough background and references check. The youth mentoring program provides a support system that encourages the pursuit of excellence and a sense of community. It offers a more hopeful and encouraging outlook for the present and the future. If you are interested in getting involved with our Youth Mentoring Program, please contact us
Diabetes Awareness
The diabetes awareness program brings awareness to diabetes's critical issues and provides information on Type 1 Diabetes, known as juvenile diabetes, and Type 2 diabetes, known as high blood sugar. Youths and families will learn how to develop healthy habits to prevent and manage different diabetes types, especially among children.
In the absence of regular exercise and poor eating habits, it is our goal to reach out to the community about the dangers of unhealthy eating. The program's focus is to teach healthy lifestyle routines of physical activity and a healthy diet to ward off diabetes and lead a healthy life.
Youth Mentoring Programs
Our mental health program brings awareness and recognizes various mental health issues that affect youths and families. We want to remove the stigma that "mental health is an embarrassing issue" and make early intervention the norm. The mental health of youths and families is essential, and we believe that educating, supporting, and empowering families to understand and care for mental health issues is necessary. We want to strengthen our youths and families' mental health so that they can be aware of their psychological and physical health. Participants will learn how to cope with triggers of unhealthy behaviors and access the care they need.
Recreation
Our objective is to help youths participate in regular physical activities to improve and maintain good health and reduce heart disease, hypertension, and diabetes. An active lifestyle can also improve mental health and alleviate symptoms of depression and anxiety.
We want to incorporate sports such as baseball, basketball, volleyball, swimming, and tennis to promote a healthy and active lifestyle. Participating in recreational activities promote the development of a positive self-image, sportsmanship, leadership skills, character building, and a desire to make recreation a vital part of their daily lives. Our recreational activities engage youths to be physically active to enhance their health, control weight and build physical strength.
